![]() My name is Rachael Ozarowski and I am currently reside in Melrose Park, Illinois. I am currently a senior at Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy and I will graduate in 2016. Typically I spent most of my time either at school or at my job, Starbucks. If I do ever find extra time I usually will either go to the gym, play tennis, or read my collection of comic books. Social science and psychology appeal most to me in my studies. Whenever I have five minutes to kill I tend to research more about these topics for fun. Social science happens to be a considerable career that I would like pursue.
Both my colleague, Samantha Tafolla, and I chose to study the parental effect on a child's developing education. This was a research course that we took for two semesters; it is instructed by Ms.Vogtschuller. The research peaked our attention when we heard numerous students complain about their parental figures currently in their life. The question that deemed to be unanswered was, which kind of parental style would create the most impactive influence to their child's academic studies? This research is crucial to expanding the awareness of how influential a parent can be towards their child and their child's future. We created a hypothesis that was based upon prior research to this topic. The general theory was that the parent that was strict, but understanding to their child's needs and interests, would promote their child to excel academically. However contrary to the hypothesis the results indicated the authoritarian parenting style is the most effective to a child's academic performance. During our study we only collected data from Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy. Henceforth we would investigate the legitimacy of our rejected hypothesis and determine whether our current data should be confirmed or rejected. In further studies we would address a wider range of respondents from a variety of high schools. We also believe that keeping the students identity anonymous would promote more honest answers. After reviewing my constructed research I can conclude that creating the surveys was one of my best skills. The survey was revised several times. Each question was preserved as unbiased. Conclusively my entire work in this research did take up a lot of time from my regular life. However over all I found the study and its process to be quite pleasurable. I would highly consider continuing a career in a very similar field. For further questions, you may contact me at : [email protected] |
